With The Scenario's first release, there's no messing about... the band have picked up the edges of garage punk, the core driving dynamics of classic rock, and filled the gaps with some high-voltage alt pop anthem-ware to produce one very very finely produced EP indeed!

Don't wait up takes you by the scruff of the neck and hurls you into a compendium of audio pleasure that comprises some smart musicianship, cool production, and skilled songwriting. The driving energy is up there alongside the dynamic streetwise vocals and tight drums and bass work that sound like they've shot straight out of the heart of a standing room only performance at Glastonbury.

Ocean floor is absolutely brilliant from second number 5 onwards! It's a very clever alt pop/alt rock song complete with a superb arrangement that sets The Scenario a few miles ahead in terms of sheer excellence. There's some hints of the best of what the UK had to offer back in the day all brought up to date by a band that should be making Ontario and the rest of the Canadian provinces breathe a sigh of relief! Again, we have the very determined and highly accomplished production and engineering work which is perfectly synchronous with the band's individual touches to make one hell of a performance.

What I like most about See you run is the fact that it's so inventive at a time when we thought that kind of thing was lost to the pre-2000 musically nourished and encouraged part of the industry. It's all in the vocals and guitars that are kinda kept on top form with the seamless and incredibly accomplished bass and drums backing. Play it twice folks and The Scenario becomes a household name!

Come around brings with it the promise of a fantastic live performance in it's crowd trawling delivery of thought provoking lyrics expressed with sheer determination accompanied by some real clever riff work. It's interesting to see a band with so much creativity and imagination do something sensible with it instead of following the currently accepted norms in independence. Come around is a great track that typifies just how rich the bands commerical output can be.

Whisper takes us to the end of this cruelly short release but we have to accept that there's no doubt an album equalling and surpassing this EP's contents is well on the way and will be so worth the wait. Here we have a song that could rest nicely on any one of a whole load of soundtracks for movies produced by the likes of John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful etc etc) as well as liveing up the current Canadian radio scene. It makes me weep sometimes... I swear to God it does!

The Scenario is, without any dowbt whatsoever, a great band that shares a vision of fun and excellence and I do believe it's only a question of time before they hammer that message all the way to the airwaves in Europe and North America and beyond!
